Tech Bond Black 1oz Bottle

Tech Bond Black 1oz Bottle

We at GB have not found a better adhesive than Tech Bond Molecular Bonding System Adhesive.
Tech Bond has proven to be perfect for foam and this glue does not make brittle glue joints.
I have tested this glue myself and i find it to be perfectly safe when used on Depron and EPP
I use it on all my foam planes, heck I use it on everything!....balsa, foam, metal, carbon fiber, plastic....
Tech-BondTM Black Bonding Agents have a thicker viscosity and are used when either extra work time and/or a slow set is needed, or when there is excessive moisture
Tech-BondTM Black has the same strength and reliability as Tech-BondTM Blue. Tech-BondTM Black is slower setting and can handle, to some degree, conditions of excess moisture. SHELF LIFE - Tech-BondTM Black has the same two year guaranteed shelf life and, stored in a refrigerator or in a cool, dry place, the shelf life will extend to 4, 5, 6, or more years.
MAXIMUM STRENGTH In conditions where the bond will be subjected to high stress, the bond needs to be fully cured before being subjected to that stress. The time frame for the bond to fully cure is 24 hours.

  • 1) Durabilty
One of the many problems with glues and epoxies is that they degrade over time. Covalent bonds created by molecular bonders do not degrade nearly as rapidly. Molecular bonding provides the lasting performance that professionals require.

    . 2) Strength
Super glues have good tensile strength, but poor shear strength. Molecular bonding provides exceptional tensile AND shear stength.

    3) Flexibilty
Glues and epoxies do not perform well when used on materials that flex. Glue joint become are brittle and crack when flexed. A molecular bond takes on the characteristics of the material being bonded. If that material is flexible, the bond will be flexible.

    Metal to Metal Repairs
For metals that oxidize, such as; aluminum, brass, copper, etc., you will need to use steel wool or sandpaper to rough the surface down to bare, shiny metal . In all cases, the "cleaner" the metal, the better the bond. Apply the bonding agent so that both surfaxces are completely covered and either press, or spray the Activator/Accelerator to set the bond.

    Glass
If there is enough surface area, Tech-Bond™ will work on glass. It may not repair crystal or the stems of glasses if there is not enough surface area. Tech-Bond™ dries clear and stays clear, i.e., there is no yellowing.
If cross-bonding glass to another surface, such as glass and metal, rough the other surface (never the glass) for maximum strength. When bonding glass, always use “extra” bonding agent, in ALL cases avoid air bubbles or empty space at the edge of the bond. . Make sure that you see a shininess at the edge of the bond line. If the bonding agent does not reach the edge of the glass, the bond will degrade over time.

Procedure to attach Rear View Mirror
Separate the base from the mirror and rough the base. Apply Tech-Bond liberally on the base, keeping base parallel to the ground. Spray the Accelerator/Activator on the windshield. Place base carefully in position and press firmly for five seconds. Make sure there is a shininess all the way around the edge of the base. Allow 24 hours for the bond to cure before re-attaching the rear view mirror to the base.

    Chips on a Car’s Surface
Use Tech-Bond™ Black (thick viscosity) to fill chips or scratches, smooth the Bonding Agent and spray with the Activator/Accelerator. Reapplying the Bonding Agent as necessary. Finiah sand the surface smooth. Paint.

To prevent Degradation from weather in high stress areas
When Tech-Bond™ bonds will be exposed to a significant amount of weather, use sufficient Tech-Bond™ Bonding Agent to create a shiny bead all the way around the bond line.

    Extra Strength
Any time additional strength is needed, rough the surfaces and then, after the join is made, apply the bonding agent along the seam of the join, spray with Tech-Bond’s Activator/Accelerator and let the bond cure for 24 hours.
