GBv™ 22.7mm Brushless Outrunner Kit
The kits that started it all!
New improved version is now fully assembled, magnets are glued in place, shaft is now pressed into the bell and stator is pressed on to the new aluminum bearing tube.
We have upgraded this motor kit to include a strong hardened steel shaft that is not threaded. This new improved shaft fits the bell much better and does not easily bend like the threaded shaft.
DIY brushless outrunner motors, often referred to as CD-ROM motors from which they evolved, have exploded in popularity among electric flight enthusiasts. Why? Because they offer the performance potential found in high-priced, commercial motors without the enormous expense.
GoBrushless.com offers do-it-yourself kits containing all the components needed to successfully build a high-power brushless outrunner motor. Perhaps more importantly, our kits allow you to build as many motors as you wish, whether they’re completely identical or completely unique.
Our GBv™ kit contains:

Your completed motor will have a finished weight of around 24-26 grams.
What can I fly with a GBv™ based kit? The best part about building your own motor is that you can tailor it to perform exactly as you desire. Whether you’re looking for 8oz of thrust for your indoor foamie or 18oz of thrust for some acrobatic flying, the GBv™ kits can make it happen.
But why are they so inexpensive? We get this question a lot... Since the GBv™ kits use components commonly found in CD- and DVD-ROM drives, we are able to keep manufacturing costs to a minimum. Also, most large-volume brushless motor manufacturers have high overhead costs and even higher profit margins. Our control over these costs allows us to offer an outstanding product at a great price. Don’t be fooled, and don’t confuse inexpensive with cheap - these little work horses outperform other motors several times their price everyday!
